  • 2020 must be better than last year please. Access on public transport for most disabled people I know is difficult because busses and trains are old. The new busses are better but not perfect and I guess in time new trains will come into service. …

  • Don’t be afraid of being called an activist or considered to be a pain by letting people know how we feel. It is criminal that most job centres are not fully accessible but the staff working in them don’t give a **** about access. They act like …
  • Its melon season. Nearly smashed my wheelchair trying to get across the road yesterday to buy the biggest watermellon ever. Cost me £8 but will feed the 5,000.

  • I hate to be called wheelchair bound. I m a wheelchair user. The BBC should be ashamed.
  • wheelchair access on most types of public transports is not very good. The transport operators probably think that because only a tiny percentage of passengers are in wheelchairs. As more of the population grows older this will change so it would be …

  • After using a local taxi company for sometime they now know exactly which driver to send who has an accessible vehicle with straps to secure me. Unfortunately if he is not working or unable to pick me up when I need a taxi there is no alternative veh…
  • When I travel by public transport I never feel comfortable or safe. Bus drivers pull off too quickly sometimes before my breaks are on because push chairs have to be moved. I only took a train 1 time and there was bags in the only wheelchair space.

  • I got to my sisters house just before 3pm on Christmas day just in time to join my family to eat our Christmas dinner. It was nearly 2.30pm when the accessible taxi turned up.
  • Booked an accessible taxi to pick me up at 11.30 this morning but a regular car turned up so now I have been promised by the taxi company that an accessible taxi will be here before 1pm. Follow this space...............
  • Its that time of year again. No accessible taxis si I can not go out with my mates. Had to pay a fortune in advance for a mini bus with a lift to go out for a meal with my family next week. Its not fair
  • I often talk with other working disabled people about environments we work in. We are all are happier working in environments where we are free to work within our physical or mental limitations without having to request assistance. An understanding b…

  • Hey Happy it was said in the spirit of how the weather is preventing the taxi company from working and having vehicles available. I was not offended. In fact I was amused by their comment as she said it how it is. Just a shame that I could not get ho…
  • This snow is frustrating and have been stuck in my friends house since Thursday but the snow is melting and I have just phoned for a taxi to take me home and was told 'NO Fxxxxxx CHANCE'.
  • For the last three years I have been taking vitamin D supplements during the winter months and, touch wood, my health has greatly improved. I always used to get the flue, bad colds and feel low but now I feel capable of anything.

  • Miles you are not alone and I feel that job centre staff should know in advance that if vacancies they offer are not accessible and the reason why. In a perfect world their specialist advisers should only offer you jobs compliant with your capabiliti…

  • I stopped eating fast foods when I started work and now feel much healthier as well as looking better. My colleague brings me in a home made mixed salad or fresh rolls most days. I think that the amount of salt in most fast food is not a good thing.

  • More wheelchair accessible taxis is the answer so local authorities and taxi operators please take notice.
  • I work for a Third Sector organisation who understand my requirements. Before finding this work I was unemployed for nearly two years after leaving university with a degree. I was always honest when I applied for positions and stated that I am a whee…

  • Plenty of sympathy from girls I like when asked for a date but 'no cigar' so to speak. I don't feel comfortable in pubs and clubs or want to use online dating. Relationships difficult.
  • Doll that has happened to me in Swansea in the rain from 3am until after 7am in November and that was only last year. I was still ill at Christmas. The driver who took me into town said no problem getting home but when I called there were no accessib…
  • The number of times that I have not been able to go out, missed appointments or been left stranded because a wheelchair accessible taxi is not available is more than I can remember. Usually it it not possible for me to book a taxi in advance and when…
